Can you help out MOON Director Duncan Jones in choosing the best clip of dialogue from the film? Duncan’s put the feelers out on twitter earlier:
Alright you lot. Here’s a question for those that liked Moon… what do you think the best bit of dialogue is in the film. A 30 sec clip.
We’re gonna try one of these new fangled poll thingies, cast your votes, and maybe we’ll get to find out exactly what it’s needed for soon…

Great film)Great work everyone:)
Ooooh, that’s a hard one.
I love the radioactive tampon. It’s funny, it’s full of messed-up character and so iconic. but it is also just a bit of weird.
The Eve conversation is a great dramatic moment, but doesn’t work as well without the backdrop of the previous events. Wouldn’t pick it for 30 seconds to show to someone who’s not been acquainted to the film.
Sam-fucking-Bell is great too, but I feel that also is a part of a whole, even though it’s a smaller whole contained in the full scene.
I think… In the end… Ping Pong. It’s full of character and play and also has that technical “How did they DO that?!” factor. Yeah, Ping Pong.
Great comments, thanks for that mate π
So enjoyed this film that have been buying friends and acquaintances the DVD. One friend got a 2nd copy, thinks I’ve gone loopy, but as he enjoyed it,passed the 2nd to a work pall. Next part please! Out of work but I can spare 10 quid if it will move it closer?
That’s very kind of you Marek π We’ll let you all know as soon as there is any news on the next Liberty Films project. For now though, we have ‘Source Code’ to look forward to in March 2011 (just being polished by the special effects chaps now) Hope the work situation gets better soon!
Idea….Of the rights to things that SONY didnt…er…take…or got signed over. Couldn’t the model makers license some models to sell. I would buy a Rover or Harvester to put next to my rusted 40 year oldCaptain Scarlet car. The UFO series intercepters was always a good model…but only a one-shot machine…a design fault I think…but it looked good. Keep up the fine work, and I know making a film and raising the cash, takes some time. Like finding a job, sometimes you gotta wait….and wait
For some reason I have just imagined the entire marketing campaign and layout of a 52 week by week magazine that contains all of Gavin’s brilliant MOON stuff, as well as parts to build a complete Sarang base with vehicles, part one only 99p!
52 weeks too long to wait in this digital fast/crap world even for a codger like me. Does Airfix still exist? How about that!! Airfit kits of models, then I could do what I always did, pay a mate to build and paint it…Mine always ended up on fire tied to fireworks. Can I recommend you try this Polish 1984 sci-fi comedy “SexMission” NOT a porno but the title alone should raise a lot of hits.

Good comments about the context Magnulus, but I still had to go with the ‘calling Eve’ scene. It’s a perfect movie moment….an ultimate statement of loneliness, sitting by yourself on the Moon, learning that you have nobody. And Rockwell nails it.
Sam telling Gerty that he’s a person too is the perfect scene for me that sums up everything I love about the film. His interactions with Gerty, how he feels about himself compared to what he actually is.
That said I love the whole film so it was a hard choice!
I looked through the list above and really couldn’t pick one moment above the others (although, calling Eve & Ping-Pong are both ace) – You’ve given me the perfect excuse to sit and watch the film again! cheers
I picked the Gerty telling Sam he is a Clone, but my number 1 choice isn’t even on the list.
The scene near the end with both Sams reminiscing about when they first met Eve was my absolute favorite. I thought it was such a beautiful scene, yet sad when you realize that they never actually met Eve.
Woops, meant to put Tess, not Eve
I know what you mean, Tim. Reminiscing about someone they never really met, and never will. Crushing.
Absolutely. It’s really hard to pick a favorite scene, or moment, in a film that I think, and I’m sure many others will agree, is perfect.
But that one scene really stood out for me, and I’d say should be considered, if given the context of it, the best scene of the 2000-2009 decade.
Tim I agree with you π that was my choice too, brilliant scene. All depends on the purpose of the clip, going by the choices on the poll i’m presuming its use will to be show someone who has already seen it? If someone hadn’t, i would choose the Ping-Pong scene π
