After noticing Cosmic Boy had popped up a remix of Clint Mansell’s MOON theme, thought I’d have a mooch and see what else is out there.
As well as Cosmic Boy’s, I found another 5 remixes / interpretations, including the previously featured Selene by Max Tannone. I’ve banged em into a playlist below for you.
So, if you fancy it, and have a decent amount of space, why not press play and throw some shapes to the sounds of MOON.
Don’t forget though, these would not exist without the creation of the original MOON score by Clint Mansell. I do believe it is available from all good record shops (as they used to say) and from the shiny audio pipes online. If you’re lucky, you might even get hold of it on…VINYL!
I’ve been lucky to make some great friends online throughout this whole film promoting lark over the last couple of years, people who I’d consider proper mates in the “real world”. One chap who seems to share a similar sense of humor to myself is Dan Watts. As is the case most of the time, I can’t quite recall how we happened upon each other, but I’m very glad we did, as not only can we have a giggle online, but I was also able to ask Dan to write a piece for us about Chris Bacon’s score for SOURCE CODE, to feature here on the blog.
Dan is a well respected composer for Film and TV, with credits that include The Sarah Jane Adventures (CBBC), For Neda (HBO) & The World Cup Rock n’ Goal Years (ITV) So I thought he’d be the best person to go on about rubbing strings and blowing pipes and all that business. Over to Dan…
“very talented young guy called Chris Bacon, who was recommended by my editor, the legendary Paul Hirsch.”
Sad to see Clint won’t be working on Source Code now, after a stunning first collaboration with Duncan on MOON, but with such a glowing recommendation, and trust in Duncan’s descision to go with Chris, I’m confident we’re on track for something special.
As you will see from Chris’s IMDB entry, he has a wealth of experience working on some very high profile projects such as King Kong (2005), Blood Diamond (2006), I Am Legend (2007) and The Dark Knight (2008) and as main composer of 10 films including the Disney documentary Waking Sleeping Beauty (2009), Alpha and Omega (2010) and Gnomeo and Juliet (2011)
