MOON wins at British Independent Film Awards

bifaMOON has won the prestigious Best British Independent Film Award at the BIFAs tonight. MOON had received 7 nominations in 6 categories, and beat off stiff competition from a strong group consisting of ‘An Education’, ‘Fish Tank’, ‘In The Loop’ and ‘Nowhere Boy’

On top of that, Director Duncan Jones has been awarded the The Douglas Hickox Award for best debut Director. Full details of all of tonights winners over on the Birmingham Post (quick off the mark there chaps!) and over on the BBC

‘Moon’ scoops 7 BIFA nominations

The nominations and jury members for the twelfth annual British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs) were announced today, Monday 26 October, at Soho House in London.

‘Moon’ has received a massive SEVEN nominations, as follows:

  • BEST BRITISH INDEPENDENT FILM (Moon)
  • BEST DIRECTOR (Duncan Jones)
  • THE DOUGLAS HICKOX AWARD [BEST DEBUT DIRECTOR] (Duncan Jones)
  • BEST SCREENPLAY (Nathan Parker)
  • BEST ACTOR (Sam Rockwell)
  • BEST TECHNICAL ACHIEVEMENT ( x2 Original Score – Clint Mansell & Production Design – Tony Noble)
