MUTE To Begin Filming In Berlin Wednesday 28th September 2016

MUTE - Duncan JonesHurrah! Hurray! and all sorts of leaping about and cheering ensued this morning as Duncan Jones announced via his Twitter account that MUTE will begin filming in Berlin next Wednesday, 28th September and also shared some beautiful concept artwork originally published in the May 2016 edition of Empire film magazine.

For those that are not aware of MUTE yet, here’s the deal

Berlin. Forty years from today. A roiling city of immigrants, where East crashes against West in a science-fiction Casablanca. Leo Beiler (Alexander Skarsgard), a mute bartender has one reason and one reason only for living here, and she’s disappeared. But when Leo’s search takes him deeper into the city’s underbelly, an odd pair of American surgeons (led by Paul Rudd) seem to be the only recurring clue, and Leo can’t tell if they can help, or who he should fear most.

MUTE takes place in the same cinematic universe as MOON, potentially being the second in a MOONIVERSE trilogy.

Wishing all the very best to Duncan, Stuart and the whole gang 🙂

Clint Mansell - Please Stand ByIf you’re in Los Angeles or the UK in March would advise you get yourself tickets for Clint Mansell’s Uneasy Listening tour ASAP.

Fans of MOON will be well aware of Clint’s stunning score for Duncan Jone’s debut feature film, an integral part of the film.

Clint is the man behind some of the most celebrated soundtracks of the past two decades.

His music has been recognised with Grammy and Golden Globe nominations and he is a longtime collaborator of groundbreaking director Darren Aronofsky, for whom he scored Black SwanRequiem For A Dream, The Fountain, The Wrestler, Noah and Pi.

In addition to his work on MOON and Aronofsky’s films, Clint created the scores for Jon S. Baird’s Filth and Park Chan-wook’s Stoker. Most recently he has completed work on Ben Wheatley’s film of JG Ballard’s High Rise, due for release in early 2016.

Clint will also be reuniting with Duncan soon to score his next film, MUTE! (That’s a bit bloody exciting eh?)

Duncan Jones Uncovers Cache of Film Director Photographs… As Babies!

Duncan Jones - Director Babies - Kubrick
Stanley Kubrick

As you may now understand from the recent announcement, babies have been on Duncan Jones’ mind for the last few months. Not only the co-production with Rodene Jones, but also following his discovery of a cache of previously rare unseen photographs of famous film directors… as babies!

Duncan has been slowly releasing these photographs on his twitter feed since October last year where he revealed a fascinatingly intense baby Stanley Kubrick starring at what we presume was his nanny from a baby cage. Where he found these and how he got his hands on them is a mystery, for now. We’ve reached out to Duncan for comment but so far he’s remained tight lipped, or maybe he simply hasn’t got the bottle. For now we’ll just have to make do with feasting our eyes on some of the most creative minds in film… as babies!

WARCRAFT: The Beginning UK Release Moved Forward to May 30th 2016

WARCRAFT POSTER November 2015WARCRAFT: The Beginning UK distributors, Universal Pictures UK have, just announced Duncan Jones’ latest feature film has had it’s UK release date moved forward to Monday 30th May 2016 ahead of it’s US release of June 30th 2016.

A nice treat for those of us living in the UK, and a double treat for Duncan Jones as (as pointed out by our old pal The Laughing Bansee) May 30th is also Duncan’s 45th Birthday!

Legendary Release New WARCRAFT TV Spot

WARCRAFT POSTER November 2015

Legendary just released their first TV spot for Duncan Jones’ WARCRAFT. As it’s titled (TV Spot 1) we can safely assume this is the first of many as we build towards the June 10th 2016 release date.

As well as this, Duncan also shared some new pics of the impressive set for Stormwind City yesterday. June can’t come soon enough as far as I’m concerned… FOR THE ALLIANCE! (ducks).

Duncan Jones Returns To Twitter Sharing New WARCRAFT Photos

Duncan Jones returned to Twitter earlier today and thanked everyone for the many messages he has received over the last 13 days since the passing of his father. Duncan chose an image by one his favourite British artists David Shrigley to say “Everything is good”.

Duncan eased himself back into the social stream by sharing a couple of new images from his upcoming film WARCRAFT showing details of the Alliance city of Stormwind featuring the Hero’s Call Board which players of World of Warcraft will be very familiar with as a point of call when visiting Stormwind to obtain quests.

As you can see there’s some beautifully detailed work in these sets that have obviously had a lot of hard work, care and attention to detail put into them. After all that hard work, where better to relax then that the Woadside Inn, a place that has a very significant meaning to some. Those who know, will know 🙂
