When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he’s part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train.

In an assignment unlike any he’s ever known, he learns he’s part of a government experiment called the “Source Code,” a program that enables him to cross over into another man’s identity in the last 8 minutes of his life.

With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack.

Filled with mind-boggling twists and heart-pounding suspense, Source Code is a smart action-thriller directed by Duncan Jones (Moon) also starring Michelle Monaghan (Eagle Eye, Due Date), Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, The Departed), and Jeffrey Wright (Quantum of Solace, Syriana).

  1. Props on being called a ‘visionary director’, even though I’m sure it embarrasses you and you’d (wrongly) say it isn’t true ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve been excited since the day this was announced, thank you sooooo much for keeping an accessible online presence and keeping us somewhat along for the ride! As an aspiring filmmaker myself, it really does mean a lot to have a real-life one be so open.

How far along in the film are you? Close to completion at all?

And another quick question that I’ve always wondered about: if films aren’t done when the trailers are cut (and of course they usually aren’t), how closely involved in the film is the trailer editor? Do they get to see the whole thing in it’s fullest form, and sit down with you to get a real grasp of the story? If not, I can imagine many a trailer-editor often having a lot of guilt about cutting together something totally inaccurate.

I’ll be in the cinema next April, right after final exams ๐Ÿ˜€ All the best!

  2. Hi Kashif, thanks for the comment. Great to hear your enthusiasm ๐Ÿ™‚

Duncan has completed edit on ‘Source Code’ with the legendary Paul Hirsch (Empire Strikes Back, Ferris Bueller, Mission: Impossible) and the film is currently having it’s fancy pants sewn on by the special effects people.

There is also the score to record, with the return of MOON composer, Clint Mansell (very excited about that)

    Cheers ๐Ÿ™‚
