some other influences that are there (I’m a sci-nerd extraordinaire) – outland, silent running. truckers in space, blue collar types. every time I watch it gerty starts to come across differently, more and more he is trying to tell sam something, tell him the big secret. I see gerty as not only benevolent but trying in a very subtle way to help him find out.

Having seen the movie a couple times now, I LOVE that Gerty is programmed to help Sam, and that’s WHAT HE ACTUALLY DOES! LOL! How refreshing is that!
